Core values

Long before our watches, we started thinking about movements. We quickly agreed that we did not want to use "off-the-shelf" movements, nor did we want to modify existing products.

As a result, the exclusive Zeitwinkel manufacture calibers ZW0102 and ZW0103 were created: designed, developed and manufactured in the Swiss Jura, with a 72-hour power reserve, robust three-quarter plate and bridges made of high-quality German silver.

Of course, we had initially underestimated the development time for our movements.

However, the time invested was well worth it, and both calibers have now been operating reliably and very accurately for over twelve years.

Due to the fact that the bridges and plates are made of untreated nickel silver, our movements require manual assembly and cannot be produced in large-scale series.

The artisanal production, the warm color tone and the elaborate decoration make every Zeitwinkel manufacture movement unique.

 

 

 

The caliber ZW0102

The Zeitwinkel caliber ZW0102 is a mechanical manufacture movement with automatic winding mechanism. It was specially developed for Zeitwinkel watches and is manufactured in small series in the Swiss Jura using traditional methods.

As a robust, accurate and versatile basic movement, it can be equipped with both central and decentral seconds. It features a comparatively large date display and its operating time is 72 hours.

The movement has a diameter of an impressive 30.4mm, uses 28 jewels and a total of 257 components, has a frequency of 28,800 alternations and a Glucydur balance.

The robust three-quarter plate contributes significantly to the mechanical stability of the movement. All plates and bridges are made of untreated German silver. This material is considerably harder than the brass normally used, but requires the highest precision in processing and decoration.

Our caliber ZW0102 is angled and decorated by hand. After elaborate quality control and regulation in five layers, it is installed into the case by our watchmakers and subjected to a precision test lasting several days.

Only when the measured accuracy is within our narrow tolerances may the caliber ZW0102 begin its journey to its new owner inside a Zeitwinkel watch.

The caliber ZW0103

The Zeitwinkel caliber ZW0103 is a mechanical manufacture movement with automatic winding mechanism and semi-integrated construction for date display. It was specially developed for the Zeitwinkel model 273° and is manufactured in small series in the Swiss Jura using traditional methods.

Based on our Zeitwinkel caliber ZW0102, we have added a specially developed mechanism for displaying the remaining power reserve and the date. The special feature is the display of the date in large numerals at position "11".

We have been granted a patent for this elaborately designed technical solution. The total power reserve of the movement is 72 hours.

The movement has a diameter of a remarkable 30.4 mm, has 49 jewels and a total of 387 components, a frequency of 28,800 alternations and a Glucydur balance. The robust three-quarter plate contributes significantly to the mechanical stability of the movement.

All plates and bridges of the movement and the semi-integrated construction are made of untreated German silver. This material is considerably harder than the brass normally used, but requires the highest precision in processing and decoration.
