The Zeitwinkel warranty

 

Every Zeitwinkel watch which leaves our manufactory has been assembled, regulated, and checked with utmost care and meets our high quality standards. When you hold your watch in your hands, it has successfully passed all our quality and function tests.

 

If, all the same, a fault (»defect«) should develop on your watch, there is the Zeitwinkel factory warranty against material or manufacturing defects for a period of 24 months from the date of purchase also respectively from the date of acceptance in case of a purchase in our e-boutique.

 

We deliver every watch with a Zeitwinkel watch passport which fully completed, preferably with a company seal and signature, serves as an international warranty certificate. Moreover, the watch passport is the certificate of authenticity of your watch.

In case of warranty

 

During the guarantee period and upon presentation of the valid guarantee certificate you are entitled to have each defect repaired by Zeitwinkel free of charge. Further warranty rights and guarantee claims are expressly excluded, though, except for any rights that the buyer may possibly be entitled to against the seller due to mandatory statutory provisions. After the expiry of the guarantee period, repairs and maintenance work will be owner’s liability to pay the costs.

 

All defects or damages which were caused by improper handling (blows, shocks, other violent vibrations, etc.), manipulations, or due to foreign intervention are exempted from our factory warranty. Damages caused by a dealer without a Zeitwinkel authorization are not covered by the warranty and will result in the expiry of the guarantee. Loss, theft, and damages caused by negligence, fire or accidents are not covered either. Normal usage marks, signs of aging and wear on the watch (e. g. variations in colour and/or of the material, scratches, etc.) are excluded from the factory warranty.

 

Our Zeitwinkel guarantee can only be granted to watches with fully completed watch passports and undamaged serial numbers. For spare parts which were used by Zeitwinkel or a certified Zeitwinkel dealer within the scope of a revision or a guarantee case the same guarantee of twenty-four (24) months shall apply. A partial or complete replacement of the product is allowed and remains at the discretion of Zeitwinkel.

Service

Maintenance recommendation

 

Like any other mechanism that is built for high precision, your Zeitwinkel watch will also, from time to time, require an inspection. We, therefore, recommend having it serviced and cleaned by a specialist every three years. This maintenance can be carried out by Zeitwinkel or by an authorized Zeitwinkel concessionaire.

 

If your watch needs cleaning, maintenance or care, please contact one of the official Zeitwinkel concessionaires or contact us directly at service{at}zeitwinkel.ch.

 

 

Who can I contact in case of a claim?

 

In the case of a warranty claim we kindly ask you to immediately notify us by email at service{at}zeitwinkel.ch or by means of a fax message at +41(0)32-940 17 81. Please check the watch and packaging immediately on receipt of the goods.  

 

Your warranty claim will be checked by us immediately upon receipt of your notification. Our staff will contact you on the following working day at the latest and co-ordinate any further steps with you. We kindly ask you not to return the goods without prior consultation with us.

 

Please send us the watch in its original condition: undamaged and unused together with the full scope of delivery and in its original packaging according to the instructions of your Zeitwinkel contact partner. Due to insurance reasons, the dispatch has to be effected through our contracted logistics partner. We will be happy to provide any support necessary with the preparation of all relevant shipping documents and arrange a collection of the goods by the courier service directly at your doorstep.

 

The cost of returning will, in general, be borne by us if our conditions for returned goods are strictly respected. You will be delivered a replacement watch with the time of delivery depending on its availability and our stock.

 

If it becomes a problem to replace your watch for a longer period of time, your personal Zeitwinkel contact partner will get in touch with you in order to find a mutually agreeable solution.

 

 

Who can I contact for maintenance or repair of my Zeitwinkel watch?

 

If you have questions relating to maintenance or if you want to turn in your watch for inspection, kindly contact us at service{at}zeitwinkel.ch or just give us a call at the number +41(0)32-940 1771. We will be happy to direct you to an authorized Zeitwinkel service contact in your vicinity on request or inform you about the exact procedure if you want to have your timepiece checked by Zeitwinkel itself.

 

In the case of a warranty claim we kindly ask you to directly contact our Zeitwinkel staff. The first thing to do is notify us about the defect of your watch by fax at the number +41(0)32-940 17 81 or by email at service{at}zeitwinkel.ch. A personal contact partner will then contact you on the working day following your notification at the latest and coordinate with you the quickest way to solve the problem: be this a maintenance with an authorized Zeitwinkel concessionaire in your vicinity or a repair in the Zeitwinkel service center.

 

Please do not turn in your watch without prior consultation with us and without instruction from your Zeitwinkel contact partner. Due to insurance reasons it is necessary to have the watch transported by our contracted logistics partner. For the factory warranty to become effective, we will require the Zeitwinkel watch passport which serves as international guarantee certificate. Moreover, only watches with undamaged serial numbers are covered by the guarantee.

 

After the expiry of the guarantee period of 24 months from the date of purchase, maintenance and repairs will be charged. In such a case, we kindly ask you to also contact us first--by email at service{at}zeitwinkel.ch, by telephone at the number +41(0)32-940 17 71 or by fax at +41(0)32-940 17 81.

 

One of our staff members will assist you in finding the best and quickest solution for a repair with a Zeitwinkel contracted jeweller or, alternatively, directly with Zeitwinkel. He or she will happily explain to you all the necessary steps for a proper return and will support you with any question you may have.

 

We hope that you will understand that we cannot give reliable information about the repair costs without first seeing the watch. Costs differ very much from case to case and depend on the seriousness of the defect or, respectfully, the time and expenditure involved in its repair. We will happily contact you after receipt and inspection of your watch and will then discuss the estimated expenditure with you. In addition to the repair costs, there are the transport charges. The dispatch through our official logistics partners is always insured by us.

Exactly how will a warranty case be handled?

 

In the case of a warranty claim please directly contact our Zeitwinkel staff or an authorized Zeitwinkel concessionaire in your vicinity. First, please notify us about the defect of your watch by fax at the number +41(0)32-940 17 81 or by email at service{at}zeitwinkel.ch.

 

Only the officially contracted Zeitwinkel concessionaire has the necessary technical know-how to carry out proper maintenance for your watch and is also authorized to do so. We will happily send you a list of our certified service partners on request and help get you into contact with them. 

 

You can, however, also have your watch checked and repaired by Zeitwinkel itself. We kindly ask you, though, not to turn in any watches without having coordinated this with a Zeitwinkel staff member beforehand. Therefore, please inform us by fax at the following number +41(0)32-940 17 81 or by email at service{at}zeitwinkel.ch and we shall contact you on the following working day at the latest. In a personal conversation with your contact partner all shipping conditions for the transport of your watch for maintenance at our nearest service center will be coordinated with you.

 

Moreover, our staff member will explain to you how you can return your watch to us safely protected and properly packaged. He or she will also get in touch with our logistics company in order to have the forwarding agent collect the watch from your home. You will surely understand that due to insurance reasons we can exclusively cooperate with our logistics partner. The shipping costs will be borne by Zeitwinkel.

 

Our Zeitwinkel guarantee can only be granted for watches with fully completed watch passports and undamaged serial numbers. Who will bear the shipping cost in case of warranty?

 

In a warranty case, Zeitwinkel will bear the incurred transport costs for the shipping of your watch to our nearest service centre. Our Zeitwinkel guarantee can only be granted for watches with fully completed watch passports and undamaged serial numbers.

 

After the expiry of the guarantee period, repairs and maintenance work will be charged. We also kindly ask you to notify us in the case of warranty by email at service{at}zeitwinkel.ch or by means of an informal fax message at the number +41(0)32-940 17 81. Please carefully respect the conditions for the return in order to ensure a fast and smooth maintenance of your watch.
